A Tradition of Elegance
When E.P. Taylor designed the club house, he felt it was important to create a large, grand, and welcoming drawing room where members could relax together in each other's company. He enlisted Lady Ann Orr-Lewis to design the drawing room interiors and gave them ballroom-sized proportions, unheard of at the time in the Bahamas. This famed gathering space has since achieved iconic status, and given new luster under the masterful eye of interior designer Tom Scheerer, who also led a redesign of the Yacht Club, Little Club, Cottages, and Serpentine Wing.

With the costumes, dance, and music inspired by a different theme each time, preparations for the Boxing Day, New Year's Day and summertime Junkanoo literally take months, and bring together men and women from all different walks of life.
Adult members often enjoy the refreshing club drink, The Rum Dum, after a round of golf.
Our much-loved mascot Tuxedo can often be found curled up for a nap in the drawing room.
